11 Meters anyone?

Listen to CB radio over your computer

AND EVEN TALK ALSO!!!!! (With a microphone)

Interesting... I wonder if it would be legal if I ran the audio through my 11 meter rig so that local CBers in my area could join in? I vaguely recall reading somewhere that CB Radio contacts over distances greater than XXX number of miles are illegal, even if one is running legal power and a weird skip condition occurs. Having most of the "CB signal propagation path" over the internet isn't exactly the same thing as anomalous skip conditions, but still...

FYI,

Anyone looking for a voice solution THIS PROGRAM IS IT!! (The one mentioned for DL on that site)

www.VOIPERIZED.com

Its small (About 500k) the audio is superb and it works wonderfully :)

I might bring this back and start building a buddy list on here, have voice chats with 10 ppl or more @ once :)

hey when the skip rolls in try channel 29! I run it! I'm in st.marys ohio.....holler out for the dutchboy!
anyhow, the computer /cb things looks cool!

I think it 150 miles even under skip conditions......what a crappy rule.

Question

Anyone on Win98se having issues with this program?? (www.voiperized.com)

I dunno if its because im on a Wireless Adapter to get to my modem or what,i was thinking it might be because DHCP is enabled....

When i connect to 'LIVECBRADIO' i see 5 people in there (besides "livecbradio") within 10 seconds they all drop from me (I see Disconnected) then a toaster pops up and says "(xxx) disconnects due to Ping timeout" (or something to this effect) and i only see the 1 "livecbradio" in the 'connections' window.......

Whats really wierd is When im connected to LIVECBRADIO i see "No active UDP/TCP connections" I check netstat and TCPview and i see nothing... How could i have an active connection to the net that netstat doesnt show??

Im thinking thats why my computer is dropping the other connections (It doesnt see them as being "Active" and closes the connection)

Anyone else on Win98se having issues also?

Very strange.......

I wish i knew someones handle that was on there so i could try connecting directly to them and see if i could then add "livecbradio" in and it would stay.....

I think what is happening is,when i connect to 'LIVECBRADIO' all the other people connected to it ARE NOT BEING RELAYED TO ME so they drop off (Ping timeout) .. I would have to call them (or vise versa) and add them in manually i think....

Anyone from here on the VOIPERIZED program?¿

This would be considered remote control and such operation is not legal on 27MHz CB in the US.....

That's what I figured. The odds of getting caught at it are probably very small, but I still wouldn't chance it myself.

Considering the code is gone for ham radio licenses, why not get legal with a ham ticket and talk to the world? (especially with less power than most CBers run today)....I have used converted CBs on 10mtrs mobile running 12 watts PEP and talked all over the US and down to New Zealand and other countries...

No rules on how far you can talk (try Earth Moon Earth, EME or Moonbounce...THAT's DX! :)

Has anyone tried the program i suggested?? (voiperized) and logged onto livecbradio??

Its awesome beyond words!!

Excellent to hear that 10,11 and 12 are open :)

I love it that 6 is now opening up...it was a dry winter on the band! My new 857D is great in the mobile and I love 6 SSB

10 and 11 were open quite nicely yesterday :)

When 6 opens it is VERY INTERESTING indeed!

Whats the farthest anyone has ever made on 6 here?

I have discovered if i add each person in MANUALLY they stay added....

Im not quite sure why they wont stay automatically,it may be because im behind a wireless adapter (I have 2 IPs)

What really gets me is HOW THIS THING CONNECTS!!!

If i check NETSTAT,TCPVIEW THERE ARE NO ACTIVE CONNECTIONS REPORTED!!! (Thats kinda scary in a way)

Anyone know how it connects??? (Who knows what else may be connected and not showing in netstat, etc)

This is pretty cool.
No need to purchase a Cobra when the ol' Compaq does the same.

Funny, A few years ago, I installed a small Uniden 510 XL in an unused drive bay on a Compaq. Amazingly, neither the CB nor the computer interfered with each other. The monitor on the other hand is a completely different story.

6 has been awesome here in Ohio. I even heard some fellow from Sarasota FL call on the local 6 meter repeater (53.630 output), which blew me away. But even in the car with 10 watts I've worked Alabama and Tennessee on 52.525 FM.

As soon as the tree jockeys stop by the house and trim back a freaking Maple tree that went wild, I hope to be on SSB.

10 meters has been dead, ditto 17 and 20 when I checked.
