1110 - 1310: WHAT DOES YOUR AM BAND LOOK LIKE AT NIGHT?

From East Moline, IL (Quad Cities USA):

Nighttime-

1110: KFAB Omaha, NE
1120: KMOX St. Louis, MO
1130: KWKH Shreveport, LA and/or KFAN Minneapolis, MN
1140: WRVA Richmond, VA
1150: Regional mess
1160: mix of KSL Salt Lake City, UT and WYLL Chicago, IL with KJOC splatter under
1170: KJOC Davenport, IA (local)
1180: WHAM Rochester, NY with KJOC splatter under
1190: mix of stations with an occasional appearance from WOWO Fort Wayne, IN
1200: WOAI San Antonio, TX
1210: WPHT Philadelphia, PA with WFXN bleed underneath
1220: mix of stations under WFXN splatter
1230: WFXN Moline, IL (local) with very occasional graveyard mess heard in distant background on some nights
1240: severe graveyard mess under WFXN splatter
1250: mix of stations under WFXN bleed and WKBF bleed
1260: mix of stations under WKBF splatter
1270: WKBF Rock Island, IL (local)
1280: mix of stations under WKBF splatter
1290: WIRL Peoria, IL mixed with other stations under with WKBF bleed
1300: mix of stations with WKBF bleed underneath
1310: mix of stations with WKBF bleed underneath

Note: As listed in the "daytime" version of 1110 - 1310 AM, WKBF nulls its signal towards me at night and so doesn't cause nearly as much interference as during the daytime when it's non-directional. Both signals are 5 kW however. Also, as stated before, WKBF transmits analog and digital on its 1270 kHz frequency using CAM-D instead of IBOC HD and no interference is noticable on the analog version of the station, nor does it cause hashing on adjacent channels like IBOC HD does. Personally, I would favor CAM-D for digital broadcasting on AM Radio instead of IBOC simply because of the lack of interference CAM-D causes.

Also, KGLO (1300 Mason City, Iowa) nulls its nighttime signal to the southeast (my direction from them) so it never gets here at nighttime; only winter days and/or SR and SS skip. Heck, I could hardly ever pick up KGLO's night signal in Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa, which is considerably closer to Mason City than I am.

from southern end of Pittsburgh, PA

1110 - WBT, Charlotte
1120 - KMOX, St. Louis
1130 - WBBR, New York (strong just prior to sundown, then spotty)
1140 - WRVA, Richmond (very strong)
1150 - hash
1160 - WYLL, Chicago (only since their recent power boost, previously hash)
1170 - WWVA, Wheeling (very spotty despite being close by)
1180 - WHAM, Rochester, NY
1190 - wobbly mix of WLIB and WOWO (formerly VERY strong WOWO)
1200 - occasionally very weak WKST, New Castle, PA
1210 - WPHT, Philadelphia
1230 - hash
1240 - hash
1250 - WEAE, Pittsburgh (ESPN 1250, strongest AM I get)
1260 - hash
1270 - hash
1280 - hash
1290 - hash
1300 - hash
1310 - hash

Between 1230 and 1340 is problematic for me because I live relatively close to
two 5kW AM transmitters, WEAE 1250 and WJAS 1320. WEAE really used to blow
everything away when they ran their IBOC at night. Since they are turning it off at
sundown I can occasionally get a little blip of stuff here.

Located several miles NW of tfcwings..
I bought a CCrane 'EP' from AES las Vegas, and although it was pretty decent on the AM band,I broke the seal
on the back Saturday and performed my own rf/if alignment. Hours later, the results were worth the effort.KBLU,
560, Yuma (160mi) was stronger now to the point of causing audio distortion with the volume turned max.Across
the band the selectivity improved so there was now symmetrical sidebands, and overall sensitivty was raised. The
S/N improved as the detector now had more signal drive.
Here's my Saturday night additions to tfcwings' log:
1210-KEVT, Sahuarita, AZ
1220-KHTS, Canyon Country
1230-KYPA, L.A. ;KPRL Paso Robles; KGEO Bakersfield
1290-KAZA, Gilroy CA
1300-KCMY, Carson City, NV

KCMY is common on 1300 nights with 500w. I've heard them on a couple occasions almost over local KKOL.

How are the signals there from 760 KFMB, 910 KECR, 1130 KSDO, 1170 KCBQ and their ±10kHz first-adjacents (750 KHWG or KOAL, 770 KCBC or KKOB, 900 KALI, 920 KPSI or XESDA, 1120 ? or KANN, 1140 KNWQ or KYDZ or KHTK, 1160 XEQIN or KSL or 1180 KERN) day or night, as well as TP/TA splits 756, 765, 909, 918, 1125, 1134, 1161, 1179 there?

From Central Mass using a 15 Y.O. Bose Wave please forgive me if I don't know all the calls:
1. 1110-WBT Charlotte-consistently listenable (although I don't really listen much)
2. 1120 KMOX-at times,usually weak,sometimes quite listenable plus something else I haven't ID'd.
3. 1130 WBBR-NYC-very strong.
4. 1140-WRVA-Richmond VA-weak
5. 1150-some station in the Delaware area
6. 1160-I think somewhere in NJ
7. 1170 Wheeling, stronger lately
8 1180 WHAM-Rochester NY- OK
9. 1190- NYC- so so
10 1210- Philly-VG
11. 1220 Cleve?-so so
12. 1250 WARE?-weak really not listenable
13. 1300 Balt-in almost every nite w/ varying signal

Other stations on 1230-1290 but really unlistenable most of time
STILL trying for 1160 SLC and 1200 SA but no go (even when WHO and KMOX are in.)
