No... major problems getting audio from the studio to transmitter. Hopefully it will be fixed permanently by next week.

AM 1120 is just fine. There have been a few problems. Our T 1 Mega Link gave us fits & ATT could not find the problem. We have canceled the T 1 & are in the middle of an equipment change. We are going with a new Risen Next Gen Sure Stream. I really believe that this will solve all the problems because all equipment at the studio & the transmitter is as solid as a rock. Please do not believe any rumors without 1st checking with the station.

WTWZ 1120 is one of the better sounding stations in Jackson. It's good to hear a radio station that actually cares about its audio. I could start naming both AM and FM stations that sound bad, but that would be like beating a dead horse so I'll refraim from commenting.

Yup. Although to be fair, sound quality is so subjective that we could spend days arguing who sounds good and who doesn't. I know a thread here from a long while back had people cooing over (then) Jack FM's sound when I found it to be almost unlistenably hot. Mississippi as a whole is a land of — technical troubles aside — relatively quiet processing compared to nearby markets like New Orleans and Mobile. At least on FM. AM ran the gamut from horrid to great, whereas most other places have stations all huddled in the mediocre middle (hi, Clear Channel!)

Don't have to tell me about T1 trouble..... I have one over at wvbg-fm in vicksburg that gave us fits for about 6 months in, after that, they got it right and all has been well since.

I think wvbg-fm on 105.5 in vicksburg sounds pretty good, I might be biased in that though. I did put a lot of work into it.

During the bad weather numerous stations were off the air. WRBJ FM is on the same line as my house so when mine goes out so do theirs. WJQS 1400, WPBQ 1240, WTWZ 1120 and the 99.1 translator was off the air the next day or two. 99.1 finally came back on friday. The AM sister 970 never went off the air. If you can count the crappy "tin can" quality and low audio they are putting out as being actual broadcasting. The only reason they are keeping 970 on the air is so they can have the FM anyway. Doesn't seem they have any desire in fixing AM 970, even though technically it can be picked up in areas that the 99 watt translator can not reach.
