1140 flipping to CBS sports radio

I'm pretty sure 1140 has changed formats more times than any other frequency in Las vegas radio history. Here are some of the formats I remember on 1140.

KLUC simulcast
KMJJ AC
KRUSHER heavy metal
back to KLUC simulcast
CASINO RADIO tourist info
CRUZIN' Oldies
Sports 2X times, this will be the third attempt
Hot Talk
SPIKE radio for men
Kidz radio

I am probably forgetting a format or two along the way. That being said I'm sure I'll have a preset for CBS Sports radio. Hopefully it will be information oriented and have minimal "guy talk" like I especially hear on FSR.

I think this is a smart move on the part of CBS. The former format "Kids Radio" was DOA considering most (if not all) kids don't listen to AM radio. It's probably one of the best decisions they've made in a long time following the huge blunders they made recently (like the JACK-FM flip to KXNT simulcast). KWWN ESPN Radio pulls some pretty strong numbers, especially during large sports events like the Superbowl/March Madness/etc. But they’ll need to do some marketing in order for sports fans to even know it exists. What are the chances of that happening?

Speaking of that, CBS just terminated their Director of Sales Marty Basch and opened the position in the national trades. By the way, this is Marty's 2nd time being fired from CBS Las Vegas. The time before, he was GM for KLUC and KXTE.

If a company keeps flipping managers, does that mean the company does not know how to hire the right people??
