1150 AM WMRD now on 103.7 FM

1150 AM WMRD Middletown is now on 103.7 FM. Previously they were on 105.3 FM with a virtually non-existant signal due to WJYC-LP Terryville and WNEZ's translator in Manchester. 103.7 is crystal clear on the car stereo in parts of Plainville, Forestville, and Southington.

WMRD is a unique station. They're a mix of music, talk shows, local specialty shows, and more.

@Marc B
Was on a December night 2012 here in PA when I caught WMRD. No way they were atop 1150 like that with 46 watts. There was mention of some CT talk network ; them and WDRC-AM and one other.
Of course, back in Queens and later on Long Island, they were a faint but regular 1150 occupant all day, far enough on the dial from WNEW 1130.
(Sometime in the 70's there popped up a CP application for a Long Island station on 1150, COL 'Oyster Bay'. But it was short-lived and vanished probably before the ink dried on their request to the FCC. On this WMRD map, Oyster Bay is 1/4 inch west of the 'S' in Smithtown.
As with seemingly every L.I. AM station to raise power, the pattern had to be daytime-only and steered southeast or east to prevent channel co-owners from screaming.
Thx for the memories!
