1160 - Flipped To Oldies?

Just caught 1160 KGMS spinning Oldies again as "Magic 1160" - when did they flip? :-\ Will these dummies make up thier mind what to put on it?

Is it possible that the deal might have fallen through or something like that?

Oh for corn-sake another PC radio station. Good lord can we not get an AM station with some personalities other than the conservative hash slinging stations?????????????????

Which network or shows were they planning to air? I hope it didnt work out either and they are sticking with oldies.

Dan Patric had an LMA agreement with First Broadcasting to take over after Labor day. I'm thinking that it's possible that something didn't work out because the oldies music is a bit different from what they played before they joined with 1190.

Sounds like they have flipped it to basic oldies, same stuff that Mighty 1190 played except its not as extreme (no 80's or 90's). I did hear a few late 50's and early 60's oldies while listening today. Have they turned IBOC HD back on?

I listened to 1160 this afternoon for awhile on the way home. Lots of powerlines along my route and associated interference. However, when the intereference was minimal, the sound reminded me of an analog AM radio slightly out of tune, and I had the urge to grab the tuning knob and clear it up (of course, there isn't a tuning knob...) Does that mean IBOC is on???

This is taking things in a bit of a different direction but what is the deal with 1150 AM? I see it listed many places as KBIS but radio-locator has those calls as a station in Washington State. Did 1160 AM switch from 1150 AM and if so, what is the future of the 1150 AM frequency?

First Broadcasting moved to 1160 so they could upgrade the old 1150 KBIS (known as KVIL-AM for decades) from 1K to 30K daytime. Read they spent a lot of $$$ to build two new day/night tower sites for the upgrade.

It's not a bad signal heading going east, it would be so MUCH better if they turned off IBOC. Nights are suprising, 1160 will skip strong here into east Texas (Tyler-Longview).

I have noticed a lot of smaller DFW AM'ers have been getting big 30-50K daytime power increases in the past 5 years.
