1160 is nearly unlistenable

Gladly, Dave Ramsey is gone, Dennis Miller is salvation, Savage is lame a day late, Huckabee coming will insure I tune back to 550 at that time, as I listen to Miller religiously 3-5 DAILY. The spots on the station are insipid, homemade, insulting, and obviously produced by low-rent amateurs doing fake Australian accents. Jeff Piecoro sounds very feminine, and has a weirdly female way of pronouncing "c's" and "k's" in his overplayed, played-out ad spots. What is wrong with Eric Deter's voice? Can he speak clearly ever? The fake gravelly hardass voice is totally contrived. Clear your throat, take a lozenge, O great oracle.
This station has lost its marbles since the New Year began. They also now proudly boast more in a row ad spots than ANY Clear channel station. Nobody seems to be listening/calling in to their live programming, and who the hell is the old hillbilly geezer that does the NKU basketball broadcasts?
R. Lee Ermey much? Not listening anymore/never supporting any of their myriad of sponsors. Small time, amateurish and tons of pregnant pauses/dead air on live shows.

Thats why radios have on/off switches and tuners. Please, change the dial. I hear 55 calling your name....

There are two controls that come standard on every radio. One is the power switch and the other is the tuning control. I suggest you use them.

Sounds like Buck has a axe to grind....an awful lot of spewing to just say he doesn't like the way they sound.

I think by time the potential list of shows has been cherry picked by Clear Channel, 1160 isn't left with much choice. When I'm in Cincy, I've listened. I don't think they do too bad. I've noodled over what stations in their situation can do. They don't have a lot of options sometimes. I think they are working hard to be the best with what they've got to work with.

Well, the daytime line up includes talkers from the top ten list. Savage is #3...

Probably is WPFB AM. Although, I thought there was a post stating that 1320 was for sale again for around the same price as that Craigslist post. NKU should post a listing for 910 on Ebay next. I wonder how much the highest bid would be?

Never said they were bad. Just said not the top of mind top talkers. Since most of the line up isn't carried in my market, it's a nice diversion when in Cincy. I think management does well with what's available.

Do you think the folks at NKU really think they can get 3 quarters of a mil for 910? JRY. What say you. In today's world it's worth MAYBE 280?

Well, they have a pretty decent day signal but 910 is hemmed in pretty tight. Not sure if it can be get an upgrade.
You're probably right Marty, 250 to 300...
Amazing, huh?

1320 never really went off the market Tim listed it just about the day he closed on it.

I know you weren't taking a shot at us, Del.
Our thought always was that there are some valid "voices" out there that were being warehoused or blocked out of the market.
Thats one of the reasons why we did this.

Ok. Didn't want it thought of as being dissed. If a large operator does "warehouse", can the syndicator unwarehouse it if another operator wants it? For example if Savage was warehoused by CC in a market, could I as a stand alone operator likely cause his syndicator to pull it from CC's shelf? Or on the flip side, could CC leverage TRN to take it from me and allow withhold it from the air?

I'm not a huge fan of either Ingram or Savage, but for a change of pace they are interesting to listen to.

If there is a "not too crude" or "impolite" way of agreeing, I will. Savage is worthless on a 18 hour delay. How stupid are you to listen Monday at noon for a broadcast that was live at 6:00PM Eastern on Friday?

Savage needs to be live, or at least the same evening. That's why I keep hounding on Clark Howard's show. Time is NOT a factor. Radio has gone downhill a lot for me, lately. I was one of Furman's ORIGINAL sponsors. Never been a Ramsey or Miller fan. Always liked Savage, but such a delay is beyond reproach. CC is nothing but CRAP. Eddie and Tracy? Sloan by himself? Marc with a "C" Amazon? Would any of these clowns make it anywhere else? Oh, I forgot the "and, and, and, and man" Lance. SEG can't get a sentence out without stuttering. I'm down to listening to Limbaugh. Even Hannity S***S anymore. Too many commercials, too much hyping what is going to be on TV or later in the broadcast.......He must only have about 25 minutes of real show per hour.

Bring back the Jazz Ark, WNOP! (LOL)

I agree $750,000 would be a high price for 910 WPFB. I would be interested that if you were the new owner what format would you go with. Also, what additional program elements would you include?

Wow.

When I saw this thread I was thinking it was about a weak signal! :D

I agree with the comments about the latest shuffling of shows being a step down for listeners.

Especially the part about taking Savage out of the 7-10 position. I really enjoyed listening to his commentary at that time of day. By 7 or 8 at night I've pretty much had all the Reporting I can stand. His quirky commentary just seems to put things in a better perspective.

But only at that time of day.

(Can't get a signal during the day)

Anyone else notice how the Reds have seriously jacked up ticket prices on Friday and Saturday games?.....and now charge a $2 surcharge for tickets bought at the ball park on the day of the game? Crazy.
