1160 is STILL unlistenable

Minus Savage/Miller/Huckabee, and Wildman, this rinkey dink operation has more flaws and f-ups than an NBA player trying to spell correctly on Twitter.
Again, tick tock clock background noises (don't blame the feed, Station Mgr.) throughout all of Dennis Miller's program.
Lame UC Bearcats baseball and super-lame Florence Freedom insomnia-cure with Steve Jarnekey (?sp.?) BORING.
Just payin the bills, eh'.
Oh, and the same 2 voice-over guys for all of their ad spots. This is the great and wondrous new PG that they speak of?. Who cares?! It's called over-saturation and you can't get away from this guy's voice.
Isn't that what JRY complained about before on 1160?...the previous PG voicing too many spots?
Hmmmm.
Things never change for this little tax write-off frequency.
Go ahead and try to spin it as "The little engine that could" kinda vibe. Ad. Nausea. Unprofessional. Simple.

Give us your opinion on The Big One. Radio for Grumpy Old Men who like to listen to the same discussion topics beat to death day after day. Oh and how many times can we mention the call letters in an hour? Like them or not 1160 is a nice alternative to the Big One.

Thanks for the kind words.

There is no excuse for on air gaffs or dead air, though.
The Miller feed has had its problems. Totally out of our control, BTW.
Heck, Cumulus encrypted the Huckabee feed one day and didn't tell anyone.
It made for some pretty ticked off affiliates.

Giving my opinion on the Big One sucking is like giving a 6 hour dissertation on the concept of 'redundancy'.
It's "understood" who the 'enemy' is. Don't steer my topic. Start a new thread on 700 (redundancy) if you like.
This is about the ASSumed idea that 1160 is the "little one" and everyone should lay off the "little one" due to the 'understood' implied hatred for the "Big One".
By proxy, 1160, WAIF, WDBZ or any other small station isn't good/great/just/moral bc they're not CumOnUs or Fear Channel.
It's not about content for 1160...it's about MONEY....hmmm...sound like a familiar mantra?
If it were content, there would be a flow and an artistic spirit or philosophy...NOT UC Bearcat baseball/NKU baseball/Florence Freedom baseball. This is REVENUE, just like CumOnUs/FearChannel.
Miller/Kudlow/Wildman/Savage. Otherwise turn that thing off and the 8 million voice over spots from the same PD can go into that guy's resume' file. EGO.
And quit letting retarded yokels voice their own spots.
A seasoned PD/producer should have known that.

Well, if your going to criticize 1160, who as you said is on a limited budget, there is nothing wrong with spreading it around a bit that's all.

Limited budget.... Hmm.... Over 100K on billboards in the past 7 or 8 months. More than any one CC or Cumulus station.
A full staff of people AND live talent in AM and PM drive....
Top notch equipment. Nice studios. You may be mistaking 1160 with some other local station.

I think the station sounds great for being on 1160 AM. The programming is more then just the usual music like all the other stations in town. 1160 actually uses really talented people on the air. There is a wide variety, like radio use to be. The station has been promoting itself more then any other station in the city. The Freedom tends to be a downer, but you gotta pay the bills. I wish I was part of this team. Keep up the great work jry.

I agree, As CC and Cumulus continue to cut back on programming & dumping production staff, I have to credit Jry for the job He and his crew are doing with the station. I think the next step should be a partnership with a local TV station in town to do local news breaks once an hour.

The word is "than", not "then".

Buck likes four of the shows on the station and calls in unlistenable?? Heck, if I like four daily programs on a talk station then I consider that a pretty good deal. Listening to four talk radio shows would pretty much take up the day.

Oh well...haters gon' hate.

Thanks to you and Biz...

We've been knocking on the doors of those TV stations for over 2 years now....

Hello. I am the regional manager for CBSL and one of the stations in my region is Real Talk 1160. First of all, let me say thank you for your kind words. They mean a lot. Secondly, I appreciate your criticism and honesty as well, especially if they can help us make Real Talk 1160 a better radio station. Although we try to listen to our stations as much as possible it's difficult to monitor them all 24/7 as I'm sure you can imagine. That is why we rely on listener feedback to help us track down problems and fix them. In the future, please feel free to call my office directly at 513-533-2505 to let me know of any problems that you hear on the air. It would be very helpful if you could list the date, time of day, and problem that you heard. If you want me to call you back I will, otherwise I'll assume you just wanted to report the problem so that we could fix it. Many times we experience technical difficulties beyond our control but we strive to eliminate the ones we can control as quickly as we can and are made aware. Again, thank you for your honesty and encouragement in this forum.

PS - If you are listening to our streaming then please state that. We've noticed in the past that people have reported problems with the stream that were unique and not reflected in the on air signal.

The clock ticking is what AP Radio feeds between broadcasts. The feed was never shut off.

You guys may want to try actually monitoring your station every so often. No excuse for a half hour of this. You're either asleep at the wheel, or (more likely) not at the wheel at all.

I hear the station is a management ghost town all day long.

No, JRY is rich from his Daddy...and living in Michigan.

Never met my real daddy. So, no..... All done the old fashioned way. Borrowed money and beans and franks until the loans were paid off.
Oh, maybe you mean my Heavenly Father? Yes, everything we have is from the Hand of God. If that is what you meant by "Daddy" then, yes and amen.
