1160 Not Simulcasting with 1690

1690 is running the Joe format (look at all of the Jack stations that copied it from him), but 1160 is running syndicated financial talk, at least last evening and this morning. They announced that they would be simulcasting, but they're not.

The WMLB website said the "Voice of the Arts" former home of 1160 would become "Business Radio 1160". At least that's the information I read when I checked it.

It already has. They started 6/12. It sounds like B-grade programming distributed by somebody called Off the Wall Street Radio Network. (I have never heard of these people.) These people must have leased 1160 in the interim, with possible intentions of buying the station.

BTW, the calls have flipped. 1690 is now WMLB, and 1160 is now WWAA (possibly interim calls).

Business Radio is on 1160 until it's most likely sold. With a viable format it looks more attractive to potential
buyers and air time more easily sold. The format on 1690 is NOT something that advertisers embrace. When you buy airtime you want results. I'm glad 1160 and 1690 are not simulcasting, they don't need to waste two frequency's.

Hey Ogg....

If it is *GOOD* business radio....it can be good radio!!
I kinda' like Phil "are you nuts" Grandy, on at 3PM, on 1160. I used to listen to him on WGUN.....he's an interesting diversion from the standard stock-talk shmuck you usually get. But use caution.....he is "selling" something!!
The technical quality of the network is horrible.....lot's of noise when the hosts stop talking. The execution does sound very small market.
