1160's SISTER?

Did we already know that Dan Patrick's Houston outlet, KSEV-700AM is now owned by Libermann? So why isn't it filled with Spanish language programming? Looks to be that Dan's leasing time FROM his old station now. So what does that mean in Dallas? If he still owns 1160 here, why isn't Dan based here instead of Houston? Or is Libermann going to buy this one, too? And maybe that explains the wall-to-wall Spanish music on 1160 a few weeks back.

The Dan Patrick model is SOOOO "Biz Radio." (Except THIS Dan won't be locked up in a cell soon...far as I know.)

Expiring minds want to know.

What does "now available everywhere" mean. It was streaming before they started this.

You have the situation reversed. Patrick USED TO lease KSEV from Liberman, but recently bought it outright.

Ok here is the scoop as I know it:

Media frog is right, he did buy it from Liberman. He has decided to change 1160 to more Christian (Hence the "Christian Voice".)

My understanding is that Fun Asia (?) is buying time on KSEV 700 and playing the Humtum City format.

KVCE 1160 is carrying alot of IRN/USA programming (including myself) and I'm quite grateful that we still have a Dallas affiliate!

Will he sell one or both stations? Well, that's up to Patrick. But if he does I do believe with the right people and marketing the group (even in an LMA) could make a significant dent in the talk market on both ends of the state!

After bouncing around several stations (see the KTEK/KGOL mess with BizRadio) Hum Tum City is now fulltime on KQUE 1230 in Houston. However the brief presence of brokered ethnic on KSEV at night would seem to indicate that Patrick is willing to lease out the poor nighttime signal, which is pretty useless over much of the Houston market.

I don't see Patrick selling KSEV. He sees himself on a mission to spread his Christian conservative message, and KSEV is his flagship soapbox.

The problem with KVCE is that you never know what's on next. Some days they feed Sam Malone from KSEV in the morning, other times they don't and fill with USA/IRN. They run a promo saying Dan is on from 4 to 6 PM, yet he's not there in the 5 PM hour. Lately a stock market guy from Houston has been on after 6 PM.

Do they have a local "go to" person?

I say go back to Magic 1160 That station was cool! 8)

Was that the name of the great Oldies format that was on 1160 before it became a Talker ?
If so, going back to that would be great !

Sure was! 1190's Oldies Format at that time was pretty cool too. Though I liked 1160's more.
