1170 in Waupun

WFDL 1170 in Waupun is apparently running automated oldies, now that the "Hitparade" satellite feed has ended.

Yep, they're running music now: Sinatra, etc, but this is what I heard on the way home from work tonight:

After the hourly CBS news, their automation went into spots.....then to a HPR liner - and then MORE spots.......another HPR liner and MORE SPOTS! 'FDL blew thru the hour's breaks before going to dead air.

Somebody there didn't read their email before calling it a weekend. ::)

As I type this, they've picked up the "Music Of Your Life" satellite format, but have no idea if this is permanent. Talk about a complete 360!!

What the heck is the deal with this station? After "Hit Parade" went dark two weeks ago they reverted back to "The Music Of Your Life" for the past two weeks. Then yesterday between about 4pm and 5:30 pm they are broadcasting programming from classic rocker 99.1 KXLG out of Watertown South Dakota for some reason. Then after 5:30 pm it was back with TMOYL until they signed off.

Now today I had them on after 4 pm and the are airing classic rock from KXLG again and after 6 pm the previous two hours is repeated between 6 pm to 8 pm. Then at 8 pm in the middle of Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild" their legal ID cuts in and it's right back to TMOYL. What the hell?

I agree with you - this is pretty strange...but then so is owner Radio Plus. :D

The MOYL format has only 2 slots for local breaks per hour, and they've been running a lot of remotes this week doing 3, maybe 4 cut ins an hour.

I would hope they've got permission to lift that audio from the other station.
