Anybody know what 1190's going to do with their web site? Is it going to be interactive or kept to the one page with the logo on it? Also, is Scott Gaines going to remain on the station? I like the station, but have to switch it when he's on. :(

The once mighty 1190, the great legacy of KLIF - gone country. Hang your heads, rock and roll fans. Walk away. Just - walk away.

Flipped January 1, 1981, IIRC, and stayed country for several years. Now that took some getting used to, and was quite a shock for many DFW listeners, although most of the music audience had already migrated to FM by then.

Yes indeedy, with Don Harris formerly of Dubya Bee A Pay doing AMD. Even he was surprised at just how crappy that night pattern is when forced to wait until 7am to fire up the Irving blowtorch. You'd think after 40 years of that 12 tower McLendon nightmare in Rockwall, some heads-up engineer would have figured out a better way. But wait...HD will save the Mighty 11~Ninety yet

WOAI has already pushed the limits a couple of times, and a couple of times last winter there was a measure of skywave all day. WOAI sidebands were clearly audible on 1190 in Plano - and that was with the daytime power! Not that I care any more about 1190. Country stations may as well be silent for all I care. If 1190 went off the air, maybe I could get that Christian 1190 in Kansas City. Maybe WOWO could put a directional nighttime signal on that would be listenable at night.

I didn't know about them being country in the 80's. I was in Houston by that time, and 1190 puts nothing into Houston daytime or night.

Default format around here when everything else fails = country or Spanish. If an when those fails, can bankruptcy be far behind?

KLIF, the mighty 1190, R.I.P. You still have fans who remember the days when you were great. Even daytime fans from Midland in the 1960's.
