Has WXIA released an official date for the debut of their new set and graphics? Also, does anyone know when Wes Sarginson will step down from the 11 o'clock news and turn it over to Ted Hall?

Wow, talk about timing! I wish I were living in Atlanta right now, but alas, fate has brought me to Denver (until June), so I can't see this all go down. Please provide details if warranted.

Wes did this as part of his "Wes Side Story". He said he will be turning 63 soon and wants to spend time with grandson's and eat dinner with his wife. After 44 years he is stepping down to a part time position. He indicted he, Brenda, and Paul got to hand pick Ted. He then gave a brief background on Ted's previous experience in Knoxville. They exchanged pleasantries thanking each other. Wes said he would be doing 6 pm news only and Wes Side Stories. Ted will handle 11 pm and general assignment reporting (probably being groomed for the full time position eventually). Also, Wes will be going to the winter Olympics for 11 Alive creating more opportunity for Ted to anchor. They finished the story by letting everyone know about the ribbon cutting that occured today on the new set. They said it would be ready by next month. My guess is Feb 1st in time for the Olympics.

Wes is a great reporter/anchor. Enjoyed him years ago on WSB TV and got to see him on the Tampa market station. I am sure he is looking forward to retirement in a couple of years.

Looks like the Nightly News set with the window on the newsroom from the old set. Kind of nice, if you don't mind red as your primary color.

I get to come to Atlanta on a fairly regular basis, and I have to say of the major news operations in town, WXIA is probably my favorite.<P ID="signature">______________
