1210 WCAU coverage of the Kennedy Assassination

The clip is from Evening Edition with Taylor Grant. Evening Edition was a newsmagazine, similar in many ways to All Things Considered, which WCAU aired weekdays from 5pm to 7pm. The host of the program was Taylor Grant, a former ABC correspondent who came to town when WFIL-TV started up their local news. Walter Annenberg fired him for his "liberal commentary" but then hired him to be the voice of TV Guide nationally in their radio and TV spots. The story on this date was extraordinary but the type and style of coverage is representative of the program and the quality of its news presentation. Later, WCAU did a similar program in morning drive. This just shows how far the station fell.
