1230 AM Now Running WRWD

I just heard this morning that WRWD is now simulcasting on country in Catskill and Hudson at 1230 AM. That means that WHUC has pulled the plug on its Dial Global's "America's Best Music" standards format. It was originally rumored that they're going to flip to a talk format as WAIP, But never did, but they would flip to a country simulcast of WRWD. What a big move. I missed listening to Dial Global's standards format, just like when WMTR used to have the same format until 2005 when it becomes a oldies station. WHUC did some competition from WROW's "Magic 590" in Albany, but CC made an excellent move. Now you got three stations are now running country under the WRWD brand including 107.3 in Highland, 99.3 in Ellenville and now 1230 AM in Hudson. I hope "America's Best Music" standards format from Dial Global should find a place in the future. Maybe TuneIn might help.

I noticed the switch about a week ago, but didn't realize it was a sumilcast since they were saying 1230 WRWD. By the way... they dropped Dial Global MONTHS ago, and had been playing their own AC library, which featured many songs that "ABM" would NEVER play. The "ABM" service, by the way, is still in Cobelskill on 1190, (and on their new FM translator) and in Albany proper, from 1160 WABY.

Sarcasm Alert: It must have been the intense completion from 560 WCKL that finally did in standards on WHUC. According to the FCC data base, which can be notoriously behind there has been no filing for call letter change.
