1230am / WSBB

Anyone got the scoop on 1230 out of Smyrna Beach?? Sound, rep, overall impressions... Etc...

Love it! Great signal along the beach. In my opinion, favors Adult Standards during the week, but leans more Top 40 oldies on the weekend. It's just about all I listen to when in Florida other than WROD. Guess I'm showing my age, huh?

I have to chime in, WSBB is one of the best stations in the Daytona Beach area. Excellent local news and weather, and a great playlist of standards, along with early rock and roll (weekends) that you don't always hear on most stations. The 1230 stick is on the North Causeway next to the Indian River, has great saltwater effect all the way up to the N. Carolina coast. I wish they would stream online, perhaps they will sometime in the future...

When I lived in Waterford Lakes (east side of Orlando metro), I could hear WSBB easily on most radios. Audio was always crisp and clean.

We had transmitter problems once when I was at WOTS-1220 and were off-the-air. Being the DX'ing geek that I am, I immediately went out to my car to see if I could hear Sarasota. Sure could. I could also hear WSBB mixing with WONN/Lakeland. Signal was almost a perfect mix with WONN just slightly stronger. Pretty impressive considering that from my location at Old Town in West Kissimmee, I was twice as far from WSBB as I was from WONN.
