1240 KGY is now KBUP

Does anyone know the general format timeline of the old KGY 1240? I know they have been "all over the map" the past 10 years with talk, AC, oldies, what have you.

When I lived down there years ago, (80's & 90's)they were full service AC. I think KXXO took that audience away from them and they evolved into oldies at some point after I moved away.

Ford ranger.... Tell me about KGY AM's ups and downs. I'm interested in what you know.

Gladly. The old KGY 1240 once had a decent following in the south sound (same with the old KQ 92), but the business has changed. We all know that the prime of AM radio is has passed, leaving KGY's FM signal to recapture a local listener base. If you recall, they were once using the 96.9 to run syndicated classic country while 1240 was a AC/community talk station.
