1240 WFUZ(formerly WBAX) off the air again.....

For the past few weeks or so, WFUZ 1240 is off the air, again. It has been also off the air for a while a couple of months back. WFUZ was relaying WEZX "Rock 107" at the time of the transmitter's operation. The station used to be the legendary WBAX, relaying the then-ESPN Radio signal off of WEJL from Scranton.

What was the point of relaying the Rock 107 signal on such a wasted AM signal that nobody listens to anyway? Why can't Times Shamrock just give up on its 1240 license already? AM radio is not like it used to be anymore.

The WBAX/WFUZ transmitter is located on Route 11 in Edwardsville across from the vacant shopping plaza which was destroyed by recent floods.

Presumably becuase its got 2 translators, which makes it of some value, something to feed those translators
