I could be wrong, but I believe the studios were leased from the WTAE building in Wilkinsburg (ergo, Wilkinsburg School District for wage tax but I don't believe for property tax, at least not directly) and its towers are in Baldwin (ergo, Baldwin-Whitehall School District).

If you look at the transmitter site on GoogleMaps, you will see that a lot of very expensive homes have been built right up against the transmitter site fence. They have the same RFI issues as 1320 did when they were at Swisshelm Park. There, a developer wanted the land. Disney would be money ahead to scrap the site and sell the land before someone files a lawsuit alleging that RF from the site is causing their family health problems.
 
Yes, Sports Radio Group LLC (owners of 1250) owns the land the tower site is on. That means they collect money from Clear Channel for 96.1's transmitter and from Radio Power for the 100.1 translator for WAMO.

The price was $1 million, dead center of my "guesstimate" of four months ago.

And it does seem that the 1320 sale was in some way the benchmark for valuation of AM station sales today.

The price was not set by the sale of WJAS. When I talked with the broker a few months ago, Disney picked a value of so many dollars per thousand of people in the market and used the same formula for all of their stations. 1250's asking price was a little over $1M. The $1M offer was close enough to their asking price causing Disney to accept the offer.
 
With the imminent demise of Radio Disney on 1250, I believe WZUM will be the last stand-alone station on the AM dial in Pittsburgh playing music 24/7.
