Is it my radio or does the audio on 1250 sound like crap? Loud compared to some of the other stations, but really distorted. I heard Jay Howard yesterday and could hardly listen to the interview because it was so distorted.

I get the same distortion @ my QTH downtown. But considering the programming they offer, I don't think it matters much, except for Jay Howard. The other two retreads, no. Does anyone remember watching "the coach" when he read the sports on KSAT-12 during the late '80s? Then he went off air and reappeared as the Fiesta Lincoln Mercury posterboy, both on TV and radio, practically begging people to come by the other Lincoln Mercury dealer. He was a coach or did he just give himself that title? For what school/sport? If so, did he ever take his teams to any state playoffs/finals? I guess since he was a weekend sports reader on TV qualifies him to have a show on a sports radio station, but to referred to as "coach"? I am asking, because I don't listen his program or updates. I also think its was rather unwise to put his program in the same timeslot as Jim Rome's on 760 KTKR. Maybe its the Rikki Ware procedure all over again, because guess which one has more listeners?

Paul Alexander has coached high school football at one of the Catholic high schools and girls basketball at Incarnate Word HS. So yes, he has earned the title of "The Coach." It's also much quicker to say than "The Former TV Sports Anchor and current ad manager for Fiesta Lincoln-Mercury." ;)
