As of this writing it seems like WBUD is still automated playing the MOR/oldies format it has had for the last 25 years or so(The Beatles yesterday song is playing).

Im wondering when WBUD will switch to the ABC satellite soft/lite oldies AC format that is rumored to be WBUD'S format as well as ABC Information news for their top of the hour news?

Im guessing tommorrow or at the latest January 9th?

Also Jack Pinto is still doing Sinatra shows on the station weekdays and Sunday mornings. They dropped all the local personalities except him whats up with that are they afraid of an age discrimination suit or something if they dropped him?

Did you ever think maybe they LIKE him ? Jeezus.

I think you are right he is semi retired i think,I believe he comes into the station once a week and voice tracks his shows. And I believe the Sunday Sinatra show is also voicetracked as well but i am not sure.

I would certainly hope that he continues on BUD in the new format whenever that takes place and that it will be HIS CALL to end the Sinatra shows NOT Millenium's decision,(I call them that)MANY YEARS down the road when he decides to retire all together.

Its January 5th and they havent changed yet.Im assuming its going to be soon sometime later in the month.

As I have said before its sad that an instituition like BUD falls by the wayside due to greedy owners worried about the bottom line and not its long time listeners or tradition or the local feel.

I would agree that it looks like change is a comin' at 1260...there are no more personalities on the air...but is it written in STONE that this watered-down "music for the end of your life" satellite feed is going to surface on WBUD or could there be other factors at play?

Perhaps they are getting ready to launch a different format with different personalities in order to maintain their long-standing local focus.

Perhaps it's just wishful thinking on my part to keep the station local, I actually like the current format, but I wouldn't be disappointed if they played more Rock N' Roll, mixed with some standards.

I guess time will tell.

I think the new format satellite or maybe local will be more in the way of lite adult contemporary featuring yesterdays artists(Anne Murray Billy Joel Kenny Rogers etc)and todays softer AC artists(Gloria Estefan/Celine Dion/Luther Vandross etc) in order to attract a younger audience to BUD.

Also they probably will keep Jack Pinto's show as well as not to ailenate the older audience BUD has had for years, that Sinatra show will most likely be heard sundays.

Time will tell what happens at BUD as of this writing they still play their MOR format.
