lets not get things confused.
Get your facts correct
They did not default on the deal to purchase 89.3.
They backed out after finding out that the Station Owner Paul Suri was not running the station legally
and had Several violations Pending with the station.
EBC Broadcasting did not Go back to 89.3 as Dhoom-Fm.
As a mater of Fact EBC Broadcasting was Never Dhoom-Fm.
Dhoom -Fm and Everything associated with it had to do with the Stations Owner Paul Suri.
Here is a History lesson..
EBC Broadcasting Started out on 89.3fm
EBC Broadcasting stopped its programming on 89.3 WCNJ When Paul Suri Took over the station in Febuary of 2001.
On May 1st 2001 at midnight EBC Broadcasting found a new home. it moved over from 10 watts to 10,000 watts. on WTTM 1680 in Princeton
In 2005 WTTM 1680 Moved Down to Lindenwold,NJ and became spanish for the Philadelphia market.
at this time EBC Broadcasting moved Down the Dial From 1680 to 1170 to WWTR Running 243 watts.
This week they are supposed to get a power increase to 600 watts.
As for your last Line about taking a 100watt Class D FM station in Hazlet
100 watts is Class A not Class D
Class D was a Max of 10 watts.. any class D station that upgraded to 100 Watts became a Class A station..
WCNJ/WDDM Never Did Upgrade and is Granfathered as a Class D station at 10 watts Or Less..
if they Ever ran 100 watts they were in Violation.
Please dont comment with incorrect info.
Aren't those the same calls that were (briefly) on 89.3 in Hazlet when the same organization attempted to purchase WDDM and impliment Catholic Programming? If memory serves me correctly, this same group defaulted on the 89.3 purchase and it went back to the EBC Broadcasting who then brought back the Dhoom-FM Indian Programming and WDDM calls. I remember checking out their website at the time of the default and they were imploring their listeners to "dig down deep" and send them $$. Obviously didn't work. This same organization also claimed that 89.3 was their "New York" flagship, which must be quite a stretch as if 89.3 was operating at legal power, they should not be able to legally heard in any part of NYC other than the southern tip of Staten Island and even that is a stretch.
Anyhow, if this organization could not make a 100-watt Class D FM station in Hazlet work, what are the odds they can make it with a 5,000-watt AM in Trenton? Anyone want to take bets that Millenium will get 1260 back? Hopefully, the WBUD calls will be restored.
