1260 WFJS Trenton

>>WBUD is changing to WFJS

Aren't those the same calls that were (briefly) on 89.3 in Hazlet when the same organization attempted to purchase WDDM and impliment Catholic Programming? If memory serves me correctly, this same group defaulted on the 89.3 purchase and it went back to the EBC Broadcasting who then brought back the Dhoom-FM Indian Programming and WDDM calls. I remember checking out their website at the time of the default and they were imploring their listeners to "dig down deep" and send them $$. Obviously didn't work. This same organization also claimed that 89.3 was their "New York" flagship, which must be quite a stretch as if 89.3 was operating at legal power, they should not be able to legally heard in any part of NYC other than the southern tip of Staten Island and even that is a stretch.

Anyhow, if this organization could not make a 100-watt Class D FM station in Hazlet work, what are the odds they can make it with a 5,000-watt AM in Trenton? Anyone want to take bets that Millenium will get 1260 back? Hopefully, the WBUD calls will be restored.

lets not get things confused.
Get your facts correct
They did not default on the deal to purchase 89.3.
They backed out after finding out that the Station Owner Paul Suri was not running the station legally
and had Several violations Pending with the station.

EBC Broadcasting did not Go back to 89.3 as Dhoom-Fm.
As a mater of Fact EBC Broadcasting was Never Dhoom-Fm.
Dhoom -Fm and Everything associated with it had to do with the Stations Owner Paul Suri.

Here is a History lesson..
EBC Broadcasting Started out on 89.3fm
EBC Broadcasting stopped its programming on 89.3 WCNJ When Paul Suri Took over the station in Febuary of 2001.
On May 1st 2001 at midnight EBC Broadcasting found a new home. it moved over from 10 watts to 10,000 watts. on WTTM 1680 in Princeton
In 2005 WTTM 1680 Moved Down to Lindenwold,NJ and became spanish for the Philadelphia market.
at this time EBC Broadcasting moved Down the Dial From 1680 to 1170 to WWTR Running 243 watts.
This week they are supposed to get a power increase to 600 watts.

As for your last Line about taking a 100watt Class D FM station in Hazlet
100 watts is Class A not Class D
Class D was a Max of 10 watts.. any class D station that upgraded to 100 Watts became a Class A station..
WCNJ/WDDM Never Did Upgrade and is Granfathered as a Class D station at 10 watts Or Less..
if they Ever ran 100 watts they were in Violation.

Please dont comment with incorrect info.

WFJS call letters were never used on 89.3
Domestic Church Media's website's history page calls 89.3 an LPFM...ha ha. They might as well be now that they've been forced to go less than 10 watts.

Also, just call me Ralph, what's the story with W220AA? I don't hear it on-air. Who's using/will be using it as a translator now? Bridgelight?

I am still under the impression this is somehow connected to Holy Spirit 1570/WISP (Doylestown), no?

I know the Manfredonia show "Come To Me" is broadcast on 1570.

Manfredonia was the station manager for WISP in Doylestown and was repsonisble for the transistion to full-time Catholic programming. I believe he is no longer directly affiliated with WISP.

ahh HAA ha!

Now, THERE'S one station I'd love to see return to secular programming ( a station near and dear to my heart ). ;)

89.3 has a larger signal than the Radio-Locator coverage map indicates. I should not be able to get any trace of it at all in New Brunswick (20 dBu predicted contour) but I get it about as strong as the Philly stations. The 100.7 translator interferes with Z100 and CBS-FM within a half mile of it on a selective radio, and it's only 8 watts. At 10 watts, WWPH 107.9 does not interfere with a weaker WBLS 107.5 at all on the same radio. Magic 98.3 at 1200 watts doesn't interfere with Mega 97.9 or 98.7 Kiss FM outside of its parking lot.

If 89.3 were operating at only 10 watts, the translator at 100.7 should not even be able to pick up the station. I remember hearing W220AA 91.9 clearly with no WNTI interference (when it was translating WCNJ 89.3) in Iselin/Woodbridge, and the signal was audible up to New Brunswick. I should not have been able to hear that 1 watt translator at all in those places.

Are they really operating at legal power/height?
