KDOX 1280 has some kind of strange loop going that sounds like a open mic at a party. While KQBH 104.7 is playing "I'm Proud To Be An American" non stop. Did Univision give up on these two. Or were the stations sold?

I was under the impression that former KENO-AM personality Scott Gentry owned these stations. I don't think Univision ever owned them.

A couple of years ago 104.7 tried country mixed with AC and oldies. It didn't show up in the ratings, probably because their Moapa Valley signal is so poor in Vegas.

AM 1280 was the first Spanish language radio station in Las Vegas. 20 years ago they were a religious station with the call letters KREL. They started adding Spanish language programming and eventually went to the format full time. Today, with all the FM Hispanic choices, the three AM Spanish stations barely show up. Maybe they should try something different.

Univision never owned them.

You're right about that Jay. I couldn't even get 104.7 decently until we were well out of Vegas and even then I only got it briefly around Mesquite. In fact, I got KVEG(Hot 97.5) from the Nevada/CA state line all the way to St George Utah better then I did any Vegas station rimshot or not!

Makes me wonder why they haven't added a booster for 104.7 in Vegas.

KDOX is now talk radio in English. I didn't listen long enough to figure out the network. 104.7 out of MV is now playing country music. I have not heard a single sweeper. Also, each song fades completely out before the next begins. No segues. I am guessing that they're simply using Winamp or Windows Media Player to randomly play songs off a hard drive.

1280 KDOX ran a replay of Dennis Prager (Salem) at night and is now running a replay of Rusty Humphries (Talk Radio Network) on overnights.

I'm not a fan of tape delayed talk shows, but it will still be interesting to see what their full lineup is.

KDOX Update

10A-Noon Tony Snow

12p-3p Jerry Doyle

3p- Michael Medved

Any predictions on how KDOX will do with this new format? My guess is they will show up (unlike their last trend as a Spanish station), but will stay below a 1 share with their lineup of second and third tier syndicated talk shows.

104.7 KQBH Music Monitor

Through all the static I was able to monitor KQBH today:

Steve Wariner-Small Town Girl
Hal Ketchum-Mama Knows The Highway
W Nelson/L Womack-Mendicino County Line
Lyle Lovett-Cowboy Man
Pam Tillis-Cleopatra:Queen of Denial
Trick Pony-On A Night Like This
Don Williams-Falling Again
Judds-Turn It Loose
Hank Williams Jr-Born To Boogie
Sawyer Brown-Thank God For You
Reba Mcentire-How Blue

80s and 90s based. No currents or recurrents so they are not mainstream country. Not old enough to be classic country either.

They have the aura of a pirate station. No sweepers or production elements, songs that fade to the end, and plenty of static.

Re: 104.7's signal

104.7 comes in with decent coverage in SW Las Vegas (Spring Valley)
