Nope--there's a 1270 that has its towers right down the lakeshore in Hamburg, about 5 - 6 miles away, blasting its power right towards downtown. With a good car radio, you need to get way east of Buffalo, past Transit Rd., into the outer ring suburbs (such as Clarence, Lancaster or Alden) before you can get a good listenable signal from 'HTK. I work in Buffalo, and have never heard 'HTK within the city limits with all that "splash" from 1270.

Not sure about Holiday Inn, Radisson, etc., but the bars at the Adam's Mark and Hyatt definitely have CTV (Toronto channel 9) and CBC (CBLT/Toronto 5).

The WHLD 1270 night signal is no prize, especially to the east. Essentially, there are three bona fide Buffalo AM signals at night. WBEN, WWKB and WGR (another "no prize" night signal to the east.) WNED-AM 970 can be heard in some areas and the Class D's (1230 & 1400) are marginally listenable if you're within 10 miles of the stations' sticks. Beyond that, it's nothing more than %$}3}4}GF&^~()*!sssphshhhhhh.</font>
