Are they Caliente or Mega? I'm so confused!!! They should have an option on all Hispanic radio station sites where you can translate to English, fercrissakes!!!!

Davidson either flips to dollar-a-holler, or sells to someone who does the same or takes it religious.

Tehn again, none of the gospel stations have flipped since Praise 103.9 signed on.

I'm worried, i hope they don't go British, I listen to them everyday. i don't know what am I gonna do if they do flip. There's probably at least 0.0000073 tenths of the city population that does not have have FM radios, and what are the people gonna listen to if AM 1310 isn't spanish. It makes me feel real important on this board discussing issues on flea bitten stations that are in the threat of flipping formats or even going off the air. We must do something about this. raise money, have a parade , protest outside the south street Starbucks. We can't let this happen. C'mom you guys, were Americans, we need to keep as many spanish stations on the air in Philly as much as possible. most of you guys reactions sound as pathetic as this post I put up.

Another thought, the folks at Radio Salvacion, AM690/WPHE, could make a deal to Davidson to acquire a fulltime signal for their Spanish Religious format.

wonder how hard air america is trying to get on in Philly? (on one of these--- am900, am800, am1310, am1480, am860)

someone recently tried to tell me WPEN considered Air America OR going back to standards. instead they dumped oldies and went to sports. the suits don't know what to do with poor old am950. It's sad. and that will be happening to more AM stations in years to come. some AM station will go out of business. OR---go Latino!

Sir Edwards, In the real world people move forward with technology. On this board , there seems to be a Twilight Zone effect about living and staying in the past. Today's gadgets are wonders how music is dekivered to our ears and homes. So getting back to the real world, we no longer have to depend on AM radio. Once a few highly rated or demanded syndicate programs move to the satellite or beyond (which is gonna happen), there's no need so all of you quit brooding about an AM station.
Just like having 125 cable TV stations, there's not a enough good programming to fill.

Maybe they could take ESPN's Spanish-language network feed.

Anyone remember this non-standard ID?
"This is 610 WIP, Metromedia Radio in Philadelphia", with ownership between calls and col.

or

"WIBG AM and FM Philadelphia"? sted "WIBG and WIBG-FM Philadelphia". The AM being standard broadcast, needing no suffix. I have Air-checks with these ID's on them.

and in Dick Clark's "Rock Roll & Remember", he told the story of giving a signal to his wife, that if he ID'd "WFIL, Philadelphia", he'd be home late. If he added the preposition "in": "WFIL in Philadelphia", he be home for dinner. (possibly reversed)

Legal ID 's have been tickered with for decades.

I'n sure FOX News Radio would love to clear "Brian (Kilmeade) and the Judge (Andrew Nepolitano)" and "Alan Colmes" in the Philly market. Perhaps, they could do a deal with PHT for "The O'Reilly Factor". It could be branded as "The New FOX News 1310AM".

Or, just bird it with either ABC's "Unforgettable Favorites", Jones' "Music of your life", or ABC's "True Oldies Channel".

Westwood One syndicates O'Reilly, not Fox.

Hence, cutting a deal with PHT. O'Reilly would still be cleared in Philly (perhaps carried LIVE) and be coupled with the FNR shows. Meanwhile, PHT could carry Rollye LIVE or pop something else in that slot. Outside of the major shows listed above, they can broker it or be the cearinghouse for syndicators who want their programs in Philly.

Of course, this would all be predicated on Davidson (or a new owner) wanting to bail out of Spanish on AM1310.

ANOTHER SCENARIO, a return: (bom-bom-BAAAAAAAAHHHHH) WS-S-Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!!

how about Real Oldies on AM1310 with these jocks--- Hyski, Nettleton, Blavat, and others? (nice dream!)

I still prefer airing the National Fastpitch softball games in my humble opinion.
