Maybe they will convert the towers to giant crosses or bell towers or giant palm trees (have you seen those artificial palm tree/cell towers west of El Centro? If a parking lot can surround a tower, where not cemetary plots? Think of the ground conductivity when covered with grass.
A million dollars for 13~Ten...my, aren't the Gersons lucky?! While tooling around in the Gremlin this morning, Nurse Jeff and I pulled in KFKA, Greeley CO and at times it sounded like a local. And that was at 8:30am, a full hour after local sunrise. YIKES! The countdown clock at the Media Hut has started as we anxiously await the launch of KIHP on 12/17. Wonder if they'll be stunting with replays of the ever popular Person To Person program?
Why not? Gerson's whole show was just stunting with old, irrelevant radio interviews, like the Republican presidential primary wrap up show that was replayed 7 years or so later!
KIHP 1310 Mesa is testing again this morning (at least during
the 9:00 hour and into the 10:00 hour) with talk programming
that appears to be from sometime in the past.
No, not Bishop Sheen. ;D
Just before 10:00 there was a reminder of regular programming
to begin on Thursday (12/17) at 3:30 PM, then at 10:00:21 a
legal ID--"KIHP Mesa" (not "Mesa/Phoenix" ).

Makes sense. Back in the day, KZZP did bother to file for a joint COL on the FM (back when you needed permission to say "Mesa-Phoenix") but the AM remained just "Mesa" - probably because that night signal misses a big chunk of Phoenix.
Looking at IHR's website, it's going to be conservative enough to keep the bishop happy. If you think we should return to the days before Vatican II, you'll probably love IHR. Everyone else should be lulled to sleep.
IHR = highest and best use of 13~Ten...in spite of nighttime coverage limitations. While the legal ID not mentioning another city than Mesa is interesting, what's more interesting is the change of status of this commercial station to non-commercial. Anyone know if there are actual studios...or is this strictly off the bird?
I wonder if one of the programs on the schedule will be the Phoenix Diocese's live Sunday mass (which is also televised on AZ-TV)? That's simple filler - it's ready to go, just plug in the TV audio to the sound board.
Still can't get over the price the Gersons got for that sled. Off the air, sucky nightime signal, no studios, and towers on leased land. Yup.. $1m sounds about right : : : NOT!
...this was taken from A Day In The Life of A Lamptimer and posted by the Old Gringo (aka David Eduardo):
" I also thought the Christmas greeting was nice, 5 days after the 25th..."
Nurse Jeff and I saw the billboard in question today (1/07) for the first time. The gist of it: A Christmas present for you from God. 13~Ten AM. Simple to understand and dial position clearly visible while approaching the photo radar speed limit. Running the question of dated copy through the Akbarizer 3000, we found the shelf life can easily be through mid January. We'll put a reminder on our busy agenda to check back the week of 1/18 and see if it has been changed.
Just another public service from the Al & Your Tree Pals' Buckeye Media Hut center!
