1340 AM: Fox Sports Radio

Is it really that difficult to run your automation properly? Coming out of the break that ends around 45 past the hour from noon to 3 during Jay Mohr, commercials and the show run at the same time. FIX IT!!!

I have no doubt, Ricky, that next Sunday the high school part-timer who is running the board at that time would be grateful if you dropped by, provided him the password to get into the automation control system, and guided him adjusting the settings.

I think you ought to call the station when they open today and offer your services as QC Manager.

Seriously, folks, are we so clean that we have the right to jump on something as insignificant as this?

That's funny, you thinking there is someone actually at the station on a Sunday. Weekend board ops have gone the way of the 8-track tape. :D

<grin>
Only goes to show you how long I've been out of the business. And yet I speak from experience -- the one Sunday morning I worked handling the church remote and couldn't get the 70% hum out of the line was enough for management who reversed their dictate that I, as News Director, had to work 6 days a week.

They finally had it working properly today. The unofficial President of the Atlanta Chapter of the Jay Mohr Fan Club says thank you! The next station on my radar to fix is...

We are seeing this more and more. The stations get cheap by going automation 24/7, but they say that is okay because it would sound live. Now they have gone cheaper because they don't want to pay enough to have someone properly keep up with the automation computer. I am not blaming 1340 AM... this is just a symptom of what we are seeing at more and more of the smaller stations.

If you really care that much, just call 680 The Fan. They're run by the same people. I'm sure someone can go flip a switch if the automation gets messed up.
