1340 WALL Ratings

For the first time in over 10 years, 1340 WALL actually showed up in the ratings. It got a .5 and tied its rival, WGNY.

Hey, its something, right?

Congrats to Mark West, as his show had alot to do with that. Congrats to Scott Shannon, too of course!

The only way to get to a .NINE is if they do something about the "flagrant disunity of programming elements, and the abundance of unnecessary sound and clutter!" ;D

Here in Schenectady, NY, WVKZ managed a 0.4 this book with a schedule that is mostly True Oldies Channel... like WALL, 1240 WVKZ is a graveyarder AM which has a great signal in Schenectady and Albany at least during the day :)

AFAIK, the last time WVKZ ranked was sometime in 2009...

Did they research several bass drummers from a local high school band or bar maids from local establishments? THAT might give them a .NINE!

Not to be a buzz killington, but essentially anything under 1.0 is statistically insignificant....

Your'e Right! At long last, Management has realized the full potiential of their experiments in broadcasting. The idea is there, in practice, but it needs to be taken to its furthest extreme!

True Oldies affiliates across the country seem to have had good spring books. Look at Tuscaloosa Alabama. They are on an FM translator and got over a 5 share. It sounds like much of the '80s material Scott was playing has disappeared, and the music selection is better as a result. What if WEOK was on an FM signal? I bet it would do very well.

WEOK used to be an FM station back in 1961 before WPDH came along in 1976 as a rock station.

Was WEOK running the True Oldies Channel in 1961? I guess I should restate the question..If True Oldies 1390 WEOK were on an FM signal, I bet it would do well. Agree?

No! WEOK never had a True Oldies Channel in 1961. WEOK went on the air in 1949, the FM counterpart went on the air in 1961, and the True Oldies Channel was launched back in 2004. But no! I had to disagree that WEOK never had an FM signal. 95.7 used to carry the True Oldies Channel on its WPLJ's HD2 channel on a translator. That lasted a while though. WEOK had simulcast it on an FM station back in 1961 until 1972 when they changed the call letters to WPDH. They tried country for a few years until it flipped in 1976 which is now currently a rock format.

I have to disagree with that. Your post doesn't make sense.
