1340 WRAW survey from 5/14/72

... can be found at http://las-solanas.com/arsa/surveys_item.php?svid=3449 .

Ruling Reading that week was the Chi-Lites' "Oh Girl", dethroning Michael Jackson's "Rockin' Robin". "Oh Girl" did not reach the top of Billboard's Hot 100, by comparison, until 5/27/72, while Michael's "Rockin' Robin" only reached #2 nationally according to Whitburn.

"Oh Girl"'s ascent to the summit of Mt. Penn, er, WRAW's survey took place during the reign in Billboard of Roberta Flack's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", which, climbed from #3 to #2 in the Berks County survey.

Hope Mr. Record liked the view from the Pagoda! :) I did. I was up there two days ago, on a short vacation. ;)

Very cool link, IXNAY. Thanks. Pictured is midday stalwart Greg Lyons who was still doing middays in June 1976 when I got there to do 6-12M. Greg became interim PD in late 1976 when Doug Weldnon left after Rust Communications sold to Camelot Communications (owned by the Levin Family of the Reading Coca Cola Bottlers). I remember Greg used to spin music at "Your Place" in Shillington at that time and left WRAW in early 1977 to go to Lebanon. From there, I lost him.
