1360 question for fromtheinsideout

I have been considering the new 1360 lineup. The 9-6 changes make sense to me. And even Alan Colmbes at 10 PM is logical. But...

1. Why four hours of a consumer reporter evenings? This is really going to break up the flow of the lineup. Would you have been better served going with Ed Schultz and/or Stephanie Miller in the evenings? Maybe a couple hours of Clark Howard on the weekends.

2. WHY Laura Ingraham in AM drive. Her show is live 9-noon, which means 1360 will be airing a show that is 22 hours old Tues-Friday, and three days old on Mondays. And Ms. Ingraham is hard line political talk. Will there really be an audiance for 22 hour old political talk at 7 AM? I would think that a live syndicated show would be better. I Understand Bill Press is starting an AM drive show soon. If not live, then why not go with something that might be a little more suited to AM drive, like the Lionel Show from the previous night. At least if would only be about 8 or 9 hours old, and it is not usually hard political talk. Lionel would seem to flow more with your other shows much better too.

Sure would love to know the reasoning behind the decision to go with Ingraham and Howard.

Also, will Bohannan and Gallagher be replaced on the weekends? If so, with what? Thanks

Better yet--WHY NOT A LOCAL AM DRIVE SHOW?

Or maybe that's the plan, and Ingraham is a fill-in for the moment (that would explain the delay and the two-hour slot for a 3-hour show), until the right guy is found.

I hereby nominate myself.

I imagine alot of it has to do simply with money. This lineup basically saves WPTT money until the switch to 910. After the switch, if those shows get pulled, it will be like Neil Bortz leaving, who cares? Until then, if you get a little buzz great, if not, no big loss. If you go for buzz, Ingraham is probably a bigger name to lead into Cullen at 9am, but I couldn't tell you numbers wise how any of the shows you mentioned do on a national basis.

Weekends will see more of Gallagher as well as Mitch Albom, who by the way, is on the website and Ron Insana staying on as well. Bohannon is gone from the weekends, as the weekend shows were just taped from the shows earlier in the week. NFL Football will cut into that lineup on some Sundays, moreso than previous years because of the number of Monday Night games the Steelers play. Depending on how it all plays out, there could be as many as 3 or 4 doubleheaders on in the fall.

As for why no Doug Stephan in AM, which was asked in an earlier post, previous books on him showed that that show did nothing for WPTT when he was on before Bowyer. Believe it or not, he actually lost people from the overnight without stating specific numbers. (That would be a violation of the rules :). )

Or a local evening show after Hoerth. Maybe once they change frequency. They do have Bowyer's salary to work with now. I would definately go with a live morning show, though, even if it's off the dish. 22 hour old political talk is not going to cut it.
