Today's radios are better equipped to pick up AM than before. I mention this because of the DIGITAL TUNER.
Today's AM radios don't sound very good. The issue is audio fidelity.
I use an AM stereo receiver (and/or a GE Superadio in wideband) into a high-end cassette deck, and you'd swear the tapes are of an FM station (except for the reverb, and mono).
The fidelity is there in many cases, but the radios don't reproduce it.
