Now that 99.3's simulcasting WRWD, the AM (1370) has changed their call letters to WELG. What's the word on the new station? I heard a liner promoting the new morning show (Dave Robbins?). Is this a national show? From Poughkeepsie? What's the word on the format?

Thankfully, the call letters has changed and the simulcast of WRWD-AM has already flipped back to adult standards under WW1. I remember when WMTR used to play standards music from WW1, it comes well particularly in New York City especially if it comes into Brookyn. WCKL used to play WW1 standards before it went dark in 2003 a year before a simulcast of WBPM's "Cool 92.9" and WZCR's "Cruisin 93.5" came on at 560 AM except sign-offs at night and then it went dark again and then came back for about a week and then it went dark again.

I missed WW1 standards, but it great to have standards return to 1370 AM with the likes of Chick Watkins, Jim Baine, Jeff Rollins, Casey Hayes and many other personalities return to what WCKL in Catskill and WMTR in Morristown, NJ was during the last several years as a standards station. Sadly, WMTR is still an oldies station coming directly in New York City and at night if it does not come out good. I wish New York City would get another WW1 standards station than WMTR, but it's not going to happen anytime soon.
