1370 - Gastonia - Moving? History?

Sorry if I've been living under a rock, but I just saw where 1370 WGIV has an application for a minor change in facilites. It appears this includes moving COL from Gastonia to Pineville. What are the details with this, and is the station currently dark? Last time I was by Eastridge Mall, the tower site looked terrible. Also, does WBTV still run a newsroom out of this location? I am guessing the format is still Black Gospel? Not a Black Gospel fan, but I did listen to this station when it was Southern Gospel and part of Ford Broadcasting based at WRKB in Kannapolis.

All of this raises another question--is there a single Gastonia station that is a "stand alone" and has frequently used studios in Gastonia? It seems that of all the decent-sized cities around the metro(Hickory, Statesville, Kannapolis, Concord, Rock Hill, Monroe) Gastonia doesn't really have its OWN station.
Thoughts?

WZRH, at least in my mind, doesn't qualify as a "Gastonia" station, simply because, last I heard, they were billing themselves as a Charlotte station.

What's the deal with both WZRH and WDYT(the old WKMT) running Danny Fontana's show in the early afternoon? Will this continue when WDYT's signal expands?

They are based out of Gastonia, and they do "some" local stuff in the a.m. thank you very much.

Actually, if we are being technical, the station is licensed to Dallas, not Gastoina.

I listened to a bit of the morning show today and was pretty impressed with it.

WZRH is the Dallas station.

I remember when WLTC was at Eastridge Mall, but I don't remember ever knowing what they played when I actually lived in that area. They played country music with some southern gospel before joining Rejoice Radio WGCD in Chester, S. C.

Although WZRH is doing some local stuff in the mornings, their focus is on capturing the Charlotte market the rest of the day. Gastonia is certainly big enough to warrant its own truly local station (local city politics is crooked enough to keep Woodward and Berstein busy for decades), but I don't see that happening.

What about WGNC?
