I really enjoy listening to this station, and I think they are
doing a decent job. The good oldies songs are right on the
money. But the ridiculous "robotic voice" sounder that they
have that says "14 GVL" and other little tidbits HAS TO GO!!!
That is just so cheaply produced and cornball. Spend some
money for a nice jingle package - doesn't have to be overboard
fancy. Hell, it's only a 1K station in Greenville for God's sake!!.
But possibly some old revivals of Pam jingles or snippets of old
commercials from the 50's and 60's with jock shouts. I don't
know. But ANYTHING has to be better than that robot voice!.
Also, not sure if it has improved, but the first time I heard them
drop the oldies for the 93.5 Coyote simulcast for high school
football it was a freakin' trainwreck.
I want to hear OLDIES,
not COUNTRY!. They switched over simulcast WAY TOO EARLY
for the game. For a good hour, I had to listen to twang instead
of oldies. Word of advice....switch over when the game actually
starts!...otherwise drop the coverage and keep with the oldies!
I know that's nitpicky because "simulcast" means just that,
broadcasting another station. But to me, it just sounds better
to go with the sports broadcast AT THE START OF THE GAME.
Otherwise, what's the purpose of having the oldies format?
If people want to hear country they'll be tuning in the Coyote
in the first place! I just see that as killing their marketing for
the oldies format (and station), especially when it's brand new.
