KGVL and it's FM station at 93.5 were recently purchased by Mike Horne, who over the years has been one of the most successful small market operators in America. He is a nephew of Jerrell Shepard, who of course was a legendary small market broadcaster in Missouri.

I can promise you, you'll hear a difference in those stations with a commitment to community service that very few stations still keep these days. This is certainly a change for the better.

I am glad to hear KGVL 1400AM back to Country!!! Cumlus missed up talk on KGVL 1400AM. I worked at KGVL 1400AM/KIKT 93.5FM in the 1990's with Pete Stein now on KRLD-105.3 The FAN!! KGVL 1400 and KIKT 93.5FM are great local radio for Greenville/Hunt County. They are great with local high school football and sports. Cumlus was f///king the community with no local programming. I am glad to see small market company running the stations again.

When is KIKT 93.5 going to finally turn on the permit to move from Greenville to Cooper? The table of allocation change
of it from 93.5A Greenville to 93.5C3 Cooper to help out KDBN's coverage originally hit the FCC in 2000.

The asset sale of KGVL/KIKT from Cumulus says if the new owners finish constructing the Cooper facilities, the sale price is reduced by $200k. There is a lot of language about what happens if Liberman approaches the buyers about modifying KIKT (I assume to allow Liberman to try to improve KNOR 93.7). See article 6, section 6.2 in the asset sale attachment of the FCC application: https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/w...xt=25&appn=101316449&formid=314&fac_num=21598

I met Frank Janda, longtime station manager at KGVL/KIKT, a few years back. Nice guy. Just surfed his name to see how the transfer of power happened, and found that Cumulus has owned the stations continuously since 1996. I was under the impression that Janda bought both stations from Susquehanna in 2004, but in reality, he merely LMA'ed both of them under his "Dynamic Broadcasting LLC" name between 1999 and 2006. In mid-2006, Susquehanna successor Cumulus had Janda arrested for allegedly stealing ad revenues from the station. Cumulus, however, had no basis for suing, as Dynamic's contract allowed Janda to keep all the ad revenue the stations generated. Janda countersued, and Cumulus settled out of court last September.

Meanwhile, GM of the two stations, Charles Joslin, was arrested in 2008 for theft. Check out these couple of links:
