1400 WIRB in Level Plains

They built the transmitter site, tested it for about a week, applied and was granted an operating license, and
then turned it OFF. Has been off the air since. 3 months maybe.
What is up with that.

The frequency is actually 1490. The 1400 frequency is assigned to Taylor, Alabama. I'm surprised 1490 ever got on the air at all. They got that station on with just a few days of the CP left. The owner is a front for another group that makes their living applying for CPs they never intend to build or operate and then resell at a profit, if they can. Otherwise, they let the CP expire. The Taylor frequency is another one of those.

Your right, 1490. Oh well, they are both graveyard frequencies.
I didn't think you could put a new station on the air and then take it silent immediately.
Not without notifying the commish.
It doesn't matter though. The bunch you are referring to seem to have a rubber stamp
at the FCC for getting shady things approved.
Do you smell something? Paul Reynolds maybe.

Could be.

Speaking of shady. Edgewater Broadcasting from Twin Falls Idaho never built their Translator station, at 103.9, here in Selma. That CP has expired and the station isn't even on the air.

They also have another app. to build a second translator, at 101.5, here in Selma. So far, no action has been done on this app. The station is still listed as new, with an app. pending.

What's up with that?

Isn't Edgewater just an EMF front that has never actually built or operated a station themselves?

From what I've learned, they were and/or still are affiliated with Calvary Chapel from Twin Falls Idaho.
