It does nicely for 250 watts... the Nautel transmitter and the unipole and new ground help, I would imagine.

Nice! 25 years ago, KQTE was in Santa Rosa, CA. 1 KW DA-D on 1460 playing Al Ham's Music of Your Life. One of the stations I took care of at the time.

The owner of the new KQTE in Helendale will be adding local on air personality and to that list of on air personality would be Cory Baker from the Highway Radio. :) Cory and other on air personalities were let go a year ago as Highway Radio went all Automated.

Found your station by accident during my commute home from colton, i like to listen to comedy on 1440 kfny out of riverside. but when i got to oak hills, i started getting adjacent channel interference (?). down 10 khz and there you were!. Good music from my childhood that makes the commute up 395 a little less stressful. thank you and good luck with your station. Bob kg6phc

Though the motto "God, Country and Rock & Roll" is rather unfortunate.

That is like showing the door to a large chunk of potential listeners and advertisers.

Though I guess you can't stop a station owner from pushing a political perspective.

A radio station website that has as its theme an American flag, a bald eagle head and "God, Country & Rock n Roll is none too subtle.

They should do ok with gun shops who want to advertise.

In a smaller community like the city of license that positioning may actually be a positive. You'd have to be a member of the community to make an evaluation of the positioner.

My guess is the owner and community are both quite happy with the imaging and the only people it turns off are the ones they're not interested in pleasing anyway. The "Bucketheads" of the world, as it were.

Not that anyone would care, but is it God, your country, or Rock 'n' Roll that offends you so much?

Not offended, it just that I like the music they play but im turned off by their right wing positioning and therefore wont be a listener.
If they dont care about blowing off 50% of the population, thats cool.
You're right David, their footprint probably contains mostly the type who are most concerned with their right to possess assault rifles.
