1470?

Now that the holidays are over, what is being programmed on 1470? I can no longer hear it here in Sarasota due to the IBOC buzz saw on 1450 here on City Island.

That is good about oldy music there. I especially like Leslie Gors, and The Cookies. Once a lady that lived two floors below me in Orange park told me she had been a "Cookie" but my friend Bill found out that she was a liar. I used to have a nice office in Jacksonville a while back and I enjoyed listening to oldys. Are they going to get more towers and increase power? I now drive for the Hoagland Bros, and I will be passing trhough sometime soon, and being able to hear oly music on AM just seems like a good fit. I'll bet they have a lot of listeners huh? I had a kind of "issue" a few months ago, and I live in Yuma, Arizona with my uncle to feel better.. Do you know about where that is? There is a nice steak house in Williams Arizona called Rod's Steakhouse. I am not supposed to eat steak anymore so I don't eat the potatoe.

thank you

Howard

I think it was on All Access...

The slogan is "Mega Memories 1470" so I presume the "Call Letter Musical Chairs" will put the WWBA calls on 820, WHBO back on 1040, and the old WMGG calls will fall on 1470.

They said they were running ABC's "Timeless Classics" Standards feed (known formerly and seemingly forever as "Stardust"), and that announcements were forthcoming about local jocks.

So, it looks like they are recreating WGUL, pre Salem?

I'd be interested to see who they announce as local jocks.....Was wondering if any of them will be former GUL-ites, they were a professional and entertaining bunch.

Are they streaming by any chance? I'd love to do imaging for them. Maybe they will barter. Denny Bateman where are you? And wehre can I get a copy of WGUL's old weather intro music? Who's got the cart?

1470 is using the same satellite feed as 1230 WONN in Lakeland, it's more light rock and less standards than WGUL was, but maybe if WGULhad stayed the course, maybe they would have evolved into what 1470 is now.

btw, I wasn't paying attention today or yesterday, but I had noticed about 10 - 14 days ago, that 1450 had turned off the IBOC, at least around Christmas, the first clue I had was that 1320 and 1450 were in sync, no 10 - 15 second delay on 1450, then I tuned in 1440 and 1460 and lo and behold, no sideband hash; will have to check it out tomorrow, to see if the IBOC has has returned.

I did have to drive almost to Terra Cia to get 1230 out of Lakeland without the IBOC interference from 1250 Tampa and then I tuned into 1470, which I was able to receive in Terra Cia that 1230 and 1470 were using the same satellite feed. It's mellow rock primarily from the 1960's and 1970's. (reminds me of the old WMLO 106.3)

Funny that this post appeared today. I was wondering the same thing and turned them on yesterday. Yep, soft rock satellite feed as mentioned. I didn't hear any imaging so Jeff you may wanna jump on that. By the way, I can't believe they haven't switched all the call letters around yet. Seriously, they made the 820 and 1040 programming adjustments almost 3 months ago!! It's not that hard to move call letters around these days.... file the paperwork Bruce!!!!
