1480 AM in Windsor

Not only am I a radio geek, but I'm also a retail geek. A fellow retail geek found an ad in the Hartford Courant Archives from 1968 for the opening of The Windsor Shopping Center on Windsor Avenue.

In case the link above does not work, the above is an artists rendition of the shopping center along with a list of tenants. One of the tenants listed is WEHW RADIO (1480).

I must say I never knew what year 1480 AM in Windsor signed on. I also never knew them as any besides WKND other than the period between The Summer of 2004 and March 2007 when they were WNEZ.

The station has been WKND since the mid 70s...I know the Waterbury library once carried old copies of the Broadcasting Yearbook. I haven't live in Connecticut in eighteen years, so I don't know if they still do...the yearsbooks had program information on every station. A great way for a radio geek to spend an afternoon or so.

THEIR 'NITE PATTERN' SEEMS TO BE RATHER POWERFUL LATELY AS WELL!

Powerful signal? Are you sure? I've never received a trace of it here in New Britain's south end. Hell, I can barely get WMMW-AM 1470 from Meriden either.

how do you guys feel about he jocks on KND, it has always in its history been the breeding ground for talent, Im going to listen today and see
