14x/ 14 am rock clarity

Okay, 14x was on with the most notable talent "shredd"
and that was on aire from 1990-1991... and that
was 1400, correct?

Ok, so what station Am I thinking of...
that was near/on the 14__ dial, and
played eurythmnics, queen another one bites
the dust, and often said 14 "_____" clutter free,
14 "____" ( I dont recall what the brand, or frequencey) was
but the year was 1982/1983 ... any help???

It has haunted me for some time, as I only have three vivid memories
of the station..one bring the radio to school,
even though I was only 10 air-checking the broadcast,
which the tapes are...gone or lost forever, and a memory of
an old style radio brown with huge dials, and possibly AM only
and it was the slogan "clutter free jingle" . . .

I am thinking 1400 or 1440 As they are the only real
freq's avail ...but thirty years ago, this may be information
that would be different from today...

ps: I hope I wrote this with more a clear concise format, thanks.

I beleive it was Robert W. Taylor doing the voiceover drop-ins:

14 ROCK....clutter-free.....14 ROCK !

They were competing with WNYS AM (1120) and WNYS FM 104 circa 1983-84.

IIRC, 14 Rock actually got decent numbers(I think they once or twice may have gotten into the 3's), considering they were a 1KW AM station and FM was finally coming on strong in Buffalo. Hard to believe now, but they actually had live DJs(I think even on overnights). The pay was WNIA level(from what I remember hearing back then). Probably a better version of the NIA. That is to say, a good place for a youngster to get some training without having to move to some cow town.
