1500 AM this morning

driving in to work this morning @ 4:30...(Nashville) doing the normal AM bandscan and
noticed a strong signal on 1500...Hispanic ballads...very surprising to hear anything on 1500
considering local WLAC IBOC. thought it could be WKIZ Key West...but 250 watts directional...probably not.

any guesses?

No ;)

Is WLAC's IBOC still on the air? I've been hearing some fairly clear signals on 1520 lately, and 1530 in Cincinnati has been free of the IBOC sideband interference.

Watt predicted that as time went on, the number of blowtorches with IBOC would dwindle. If WLAC's is gone, that makes 3 biggies in this area in the past few months with WLS and WHAS now IBOC free. Now if we could just get WLW to take the hint.

WLAC's IBOC is in fact off the air, at least as of 9:00 Sunday morning. I'm pretty sure it's been off for at least a week if not considerably longer.

(shows how often I listen to AM!)

And even with WLW's IBOC, CBS is the company that really needs to get the hint considering the crapstorm their buzz puts over the Midwest at night.

CBS doesnt seem ready to nuke IBOC yet. alot of their stations are now usining a new IBOC method. Full 10khz Analog Audio sound. WITH IBOC even further out of the sideband
