I started back in 1978 with Hank Schneider and Greg Stanford. I was a young kid of like 19 and thought country wasn't cool. Well it grew on me and I enjoyed a great career with it. Worked around great people like Hank, Greg, Hap Parker, Shelby Garrick and Shirley George. This station was later renamed WWWA. I remember everywhere I went to get into radio, Somehow I got pointed to the the old "Voice of the Valley".

"Friends, send those cards and letters to Post Office Box 1, Langley, SC 29834".

That's always been my "fake" address when joking about where someone should send me something.

I never worked at the mighty 15-10, but I do remember visiting once or twice when I was working at WGUS and/or WGAC. Try as I might, I can't recall much. I want to say they had an ITA transmitter and console, but I do remember the tower was about 100 feet tall.

My sister-in-law's best friend was Harry Parker's daughter, so there were many conversations about the Voice of the Valley..."Where Valley Advertising Pays.

The only name I recognize is Greg, but I knew him when he was working over at WGUS.

I don't remember much about WVAP other than a vague memory of riding by their location and that their tower was so short it did not need to be lighted.
