1540 RADIO OHIO

On 4/1/13 the License for WDWC 1540 50 KW fulltime, Albany New York Expires, if they Don't Come back . Can 1540 WWGK Cleveland and /or WYCL Niles Ohio Get Night service?

Unfortunately, 50KW Class A station KXEL in Waterloo, Iowa prevents stations on 1540KHz in Ohio from getting ANY night time power.

Wow. The mighty WPTR, once heard all over New England and up into Canada, silenced.

Is this the biggest AM signal shutdown (if true)?

Perhaps during the daytime but I'd be very surprised if they received any night time power. The commish has never relaxed the night time protections of class A stations.

I went to the radio locator sight and typed in WDWC. I got a small FM in Martin Ferry's, Ohio. Looks like a religious broadcaster.
