Nice application for 1.3KW Omni daytimer in Northbrook (besides the power lines). If no one steps forward to buy it, will the joint partnership finance it themselves? If no one buys this cp when issued, it will really prove the market for AM stations is over. More fun from grundy county.

Is this an app for a NEW station or a "move" of an existing station (even if that station is dark but has not surrendered its license)? The FCC will not accept apps for NEW Class D AMs (that is, daytimers). They will, however, accept apps to change the CoL of existing Class Ds and/or change existing full-time AMs to Class D. An app for a NEW Class D AM may be reported as tendered for filing, but it will not be accepted for filing and will be returned to the applicant.
What I read was Lake Geneva station moves to Northbrook and Morris turns in its license. The station seems to be erecting a new short tower. You can see the application on the fcc web site. I tried to post a link, but it didn't work.
Lake Geneva is on the FCC Silent list.

Maybe they'll run a Top 40 format ;D

There is one class a FM, and one translator licensed to Lake Geneva. So they will be able to move it.DanStrassberg said:The owner wants to move the station from Lake Geneva to Northbrook. I'm not in the Midwest, so I do not know the anwer to this question: Is there another station (FM or AM) that is licensed to Lake Geneva? If not, the FCC will not allow the move. Regardless of how many other audio broadcast signals are audible in (or even provide CoL-quality signals to) the community from which an owner wants to move a station, the FCC will not allow a move of the last remaining station licensed to a community. I understand that this station is currently dark. I don't think that matters. Presumably, the owner has not surrendered the license becaise this is a daytime-only station and the FCC will not accept applications for new daytimers but will accept applications to move daytimers to different communities. So the station has to meet at least two criteria 1) the license is still valid and has not been surrendered and 2) there is at least one other audio broadcst station licensed to Lake Geneva.
