One of those transmitter Ops was my friend, Pete, who is blind. He is also a ham, callsign K1PXE. I remember when I first started, wondering about the Braille markings on the transmitter... until I met Pete in the early 90's. :) That explained everything! He even showed me the special meter he used to take readings!

Back in those days, the studio was located at the CT Post Mall, before it was closed-in. Blair Walliser bought a "modular home" demo unit from a local business, and had it installed over a weekend. It is told that he we walked into City Hall, told them he built a building at 90 Kay Ave, and asked for the permits. Needless to say, he didn't make many friends, there.
