I listened to the webstream at work today too, only a couple of small problems (those may be attributed to my browser or laptop, not sure), but the music and the sound quality were really good. I had more than one co worker actually ask what I was listening to, so hopefully you are onto something good here. Best of luck.

Please let me know what problems you were having. Leave a message here or send e-mail to [email protected]. We were having problems with the first MP3 encoder dropping out. We replaced everything last Friday. The new server has a different IP so it might take a day or two for name service to catch up to the change. The stream is stereo.

We are looking to add a dedicated Windows Media server this week. That might make it a little easier for those using Windows systems.

Are there any more translators out there? This could work on a limited basis along the lines of what WAMO is doing (or will there be a joint sales agreement with WAMO down the road?)
I'm not aware of any for sale in town. The FCC has not opened a translator filing window in many years. Hopefully, one will open soon. Having a translator would be nice but I can listen to the station on my iPhone connected via Bluetooth in the car and on my computer. I don't live in the 4 watt coverage area so the stream makes all the difference in the world to me.

As for joint marketing agreements, other than random "what if" discussions, there isn't anything in the works with any other media company. Marketing the station and ad sales are next on the list of things to do. A joint marketing agreement would make sense if the right deal could be created.

The only problem I was getting was usually 8 to 10 seconds after starting the streaming it will just stop, but by simply nudging the play bar slightly to the left the stream goes back to playing with no hesitation whatsoever. Like I said, it could just be me, don't know if anyone else is having that problem or not.

I have been listening to ZUM in my car with Tunein radio as well, 128kbps mp3-Pro stereo stream with no skipping or stream drop outs. I have 2 Grace Allegro GDI-IRD4000 Wi-Fi Wireless table top Internet radios and have been listening with one at work, and one at home in the evenings. At work my co-workers have been hearing the station playing in my office and I have been introducing the station to them in passing conversation. They all have added the station to their favorite’s station list on their Tunin radio app.

;D Just 'tuned in', so to speak. Using a surround decoder reveals that this is REAL stereo , not that gives you a headache if you listen to it long enough pseudo stereo found in many streams. Right now Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly" is playing, and all that I have come to expect to hear is THERE!
More separation would be great................ but.......... What you have is head and shoulders above the crowd.

Kudos from a leftover "Quaddie".

It's a very good audio stream. Also, our automation is more interesting than the 3WS automation. :D

Stay tuned ... we have a long way to go.

I wonder if WDIG 950 could be had for a cheap price. Great signal, covers Steubenville all the way down to Wheeling!

I've been saying for a long time that some of these smaller, marginal AMs could and should be had for a reasonable price and be able to use alternative means of raising revenue. Besides donations, this can also include holding a dance, auto/motorcycle/scooter show, concert or other event.

On a different note, I've been listening for awhile now and the mix is generally pretty good. May I suggest 'spicing it up' with songs that have viability but may not necessarily be well known. Don't be afraid to 'throw in' a good 'Oh, WOW!" record every now and again.

I helped you snag an out of town listener last night. :) He left a comment at the website. Gary has an appreciation for what radio should be, IMHO. Take time to visit the WLIQ website to see his OTHER interest. <VBG>

The music and jingles sound great! Come on guys, give us some imaging of some kind. Don't like hearing that go into the stopset with nothing PPM crap. :)

Four watts can carry, though hardly as far as anyone would like. I have picked up WZUM at night across the river in Duquesne and as far away as West Mifflin Area High School.

One has to strain for it on E. Fifth Avenue in McKeesport, but clearly there is enough signal to sample it on Route 837 on the other side of the Duquesne-McKeesport Bridge.

While running 1060 WMCL in McLeansboro Illinois ( 1987) we had 25 watts post sunset. It would travel about 10 miles in each direction. Not bad for HS basketball.

WMCL is now 2 watts @ Night and has an FM Translator on 107.9

This Morning [Sat 7/20] @ 9am WZUM Played Color him Father. [I was Listening to the Radio Not The internet] It Sounded Great. Thank You. Keep up the Big Mix.

New R&B Oldies station signed on in Cincy today as well. http://oldschoolcincy.com/

That's an interesting development. Haven't listened yet but it's 70s/80s/90s according to the website. They blew
up Jammin' Oldies to do it, so I'm guessing this is less colorblind. I suspect they are going to have an interesting
time making the 90s songs fit.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the music mix. I tuned this in the first day and thought it was some station from far far away I was freakishly picking up....didn't know how lucky I was!!! Coming in super clear in Chalfant-ish area.

Is "That Girl" by Stevie Wonder as deep as you intend to venture into the 80s? Also, how about a disco show for an hour or 2 on Saturdays (real disco, not Bee Gees over and over). Anyone who has read my posts know that I will always say the deeper the cut, the better. :)
