Already is. The station runs brokered programming. Currently running at 50kw daytime, CP for nighttime operations have been filed, not sure if it has been approved yet..jd or CW would have that answer for you.

As far as the flip to the new format, I have read it will be on by summer's end.

I've heard it speculated by one of their potential advertisers that it will be towards the end of September in all likelihood. Take it for what its worth. I think there are some technical issues that they have to work out that has moved them back a little bit.

KILE has a construction permit for nighttime so that's already underway, but it's for just 1,000 watts from a site north of I-10 near Eldridge. From there, the west side coverage will be okay, but far west and northern suburbs will get very little signal. What they really want, and what's still awaiting approval, is a construction permit for another site north of Katy with 19,000 watts that would provide much better coverage for them, although it would still be lacking toward the north. There's a long waiting list on applications and this one isn't near the top, so the real issue now is getting some kind of usable signal on the air at night instead of post-sunset authority flea-power. Each month that passes means an earlier time for turning off the 50-kW daytime rig.

The target date for the new format was supposed to be the end of August but there's still a lot to do. The previous post mentioned the end of September, and it might be even longer before they get it up and running.

A little surprised that no one has mention that Richard Justice (from the Chron and formally did KILT 610 shows) has a show of his own on KILE, which according to "The Chron" will be 1560 "The Game. And it also says that he was considering a show on 97.5, but shuts out KBME....Hmmmmm.....the I guess countdown to a oldies format for KBME should start, and BTW, KBME, is it a good thing to boast being the "exclusive home of Fox Sports?" http://blogs.chron.com/sportsmedia/2007/07/zierlein_beckham_and_a_salute.html

KGOW. David Gow, the new owner KILE appears to be somewhat of an egomaniac. The station calls are his name. Does that rhyme with cow?
