1560 The Game

Really, that is amazing you actually could pick up the 1480.
 
I wonder if they finally fixed something. 1560 is coming in pretty good this afternoon. It must be the wind.
 
Granato's great, but is he broadcasting out of a port o pottie?
 
yes, their microphones do sound like they are in a toilet bowl. Horrible scratchy sound, especially when they broadcast from the Rajin Cajun.
 
Well Actually the toilet bowl sound is because of the spanish programming they have ( Radio Triunfo) Because when klvl was radio activa they had a good sound.
 
I don't know about the toilet bowl sound on 1480, but it is certainly there on 1560. Not a crisp clear distinct sound like you find on 610 or 790. I still don't understand how al these sports stations can survive. You would think Houston has 4 championship teams - NOT!

Clear Channel doesn't own "The Game" or KLVL. They are owned by GOW Communications, LLC. Clear Channel owns sports station 790 KBME.

Drove from Beaumont to Dallas Sunday - 1560 came in well from Beaumont to about 2 hours north of Houston.

Why is KGOW calling KLVL their sister station? Does GOW have an LMA with Siga?
 
yes its complicated but arrango and the guys have a agreement he would lma the entire station and also 1560 would not oppose the power upgrade kgbc got a few months back and kgbc would not oppose 1560s upgrade so really the guy that owns and runs 1560 has control of a total of 3 am stations 1460.1560 and 1540 but only 1560 is own by them 1460 is still owned by aleluyah aka roberto villareal.... 1480 has been going down the drain since it fliped from Radio vision a few years ago.oh yeah guys anther thing 1320 will soon be up for grabs its going to be sold! asking price about 10 million.....

im not sure theirs a few people interested but no one has made a offer my guess is another spanish format on KXYZ a tru Heritage Station in Houston where alot of us Starded including myself and many others like Martin Berlanga a national anchor/reporter of UNIVISON NETWORK and chayan ortuno Operations manager for Univision Dallas and many many more...
 
BizRadio would love to buy it as part of their lease-purchase, but the genius over there Dan Frishberg was expecting to get the property for about $5-6 Mil by the end of his 3 year lease. He put in a lot of improvement to the physical plant and that signal is much better than it was 3 years ago. Way to go Frishberg, he's looking for a drop in value and he puts capital into it, probably adding a boost to value. I hope MRBI sends him a thank you note. Anyway, he probably doesn't have the $$ to buy it for $10M or higher, which is what MRBI will ask. Frishberg has bled his investors' money already so don't look for him to grab KXYZ. If a well funded AND organized group comes in they could make a go of it with the stronger signal. I wouldn't look for Liberman to come in, although he would love it too, but Lenard Liberman only buys distressed properties for pennies on the dollar. You know MRBI isn't distressed. Prediciton: MRBI leases the property to someone else that will try another format other than BizRadio. Knowing the geniuses in this market I wouldn't be shocked to see a 5th sports station (just kidding, I hope).
 
Just of the top of your head how much advertising money do you think KXYZ brings in a month? 80 thousand?? 100 grand??
 
Maybe another Christian radio, maybe Radio Aleluya would buy it.
