1580 Radio Formula Flips Formats

Just read on the dentist board that 1580 Radio Formula has flipped formats. It flipped to become yet another Spanish Speaking Jesuscaster. Look I have nothing against Spanish people, but how many of these damn Spanish Jesuscast Stations do we need in Greater New York? There's already:

540 Islip
1310 Mt. Kisco which simulcasts 1330 from NYC
1330 NYC Radio Vision Cristiana
1430 Newark/NYC Radio Cantico Nuevo
And now 1580 in Patchouge

Plus 1530 from Bridgeport's blasts in on part of the Island and a lot of their preachers speak Spanish

Whatever happened to that guy who used to post here, who posted endlessly about this station and claimed that Radio Formula was going to shoot to the top of the ratings? ::)

In addition to the Spanish-language jesuscasters, there's plenty English language ones to choose from as well:

88.9/94.7 Family Radio
WLIX (the former Radio X) on 94.7/94.5/104.5/96.5
WNYG 1440
WTHE 1520
I think there's a few on the East End as well, including the new one with the "K" callsign
Plus stations like 1190 WLIB coming in from NYC
...and not to mention Spanish-language religious pirates like those on 89.7 and 90.1 from Queens, which cover parts of Nassau as well

It sucks Marc, it definitely sucks. I speak Spanish as my first language, but I have no desire to listen to the "new" format on 1580 AM. I actually liked what Radio Formula was trying to do (full service type radio) and preferred it to the Fiesta FM station at 96.9. :(

Oh and FYI for all you record geeks out there, the old WLIM pop-standards record library is still there at the station. Along with two old 1930s radios in a closet in the GM's office.

Wish I could go about getting that stuff and giving it good homes since I'm sure WLIM is never going to use it. :-\

(P.S.: This is StephanieNYC, forgetting to log out as WGLIRADIO before posting) HAHAHA

Me thinks if I ever win the lottery I'll give PolNet a call about buying the station from them. I'll make sure all those antiques get a good home.

He's probably hiding. Radio Fórmula has tried in several markets to broker time and run their format... zero ratings in all cases.
