I believe AM 1590 signed on in Ocean City, MD in the late sixties. The original calls were WETT. Previous owners included a local businesswoman named Gina Grazier, followed by Stuart Frankel, who managed WMAR-TV in Baltimore for a while. As WKHZ, it ran a CHR format around 2000, with the Greaseman in the morning. Pat Sajak bought the station circa 2001 and ran a News/Talk format. I haven't heard the station since it flipped back to music, but having worked there in the early eighties, I can tell you the station's directional pattern has always been, to put it politely, problematic. Bottom line: the signal shoots due east - straight out into the ocean!
